So rude. Obviously this establishment doesn't care for tourist. We went in for morning coffee and before we had a chance to ask a question the waitress (very short blonde hair) turned to me and said "just wait! I see you!!!" In a harsh tone. My daughter and I were embarrassed and shocked and just couldn't believe it. I said "no thank and we went to look for another cafe"
I really hate for this one person to ruin this beautiful city for us but she sure did try. -

This place seems to have a lot of good reviews, but sadly, I did not have a good experience when I was there. The two pastries that intrigued me the most were their lemon tarte and a fluffy German cheesecake called Käsekuchen. Ideally, I would have gotten both, but I was so full from eating everything else in this town that I had to settle with having just one pastry for an afternoon snack - and I went with the Käsekuchen.
While I liked that it wasn't too sweet, it ended up being very eggy and altogether very meh - a first for me when it comes to pastries in France. The tea I got to go with it was also not very memorable. While the interior is cute - rustic, with lots of Teddy bears everywhere - the service was very lacking, especially compared to other places in this town.
Maybe my experience would have been better if I had picked the lemon tarte or tried some lunch or dinner items, but I'll probably skip this place next time I'm in town. -

WHAT A SCAM. Sadly, my trip to Colmar was not what I had wished for, because my experience in this restaurant messed everything up pretty much. We got served by a rude lady, who seemed to be the owner and took our order of two plates to share without objection (or so it seemed).
To our surprise, they brought four servings of our first option, and when we told her that we had only ordered one, she said that plates couldn't be shared. Why didn't she tell us in the first place? Sadly, there are places who still do not care about customers and would rather make money out of two extra plates. I thought scamming at tourists was over since internet existed.
Go spend your money somewhere else, food might be better too.
Ps. The only "star" goes to the nice young assistant who, we could tell, felt bad for our experience. -

Order a steak salad! Juicy steak pieces with yummy haricots verts and perfectly seasoned plump sautéed potatoes. Boiled eggs, ripe tomatoes, olives, arugula, and a light heavenly dressing of who knows what. I recommend skipping breakfast. One of the biggest and most delicious salad ever. Perfect in a town where most food is meat with a side of meat. Or cheese. Friendly and prompt staff and cool deco. My husband ordered a house shepherd pie with a flaky delicious crust filled with ham, cheese, bacon, potatoes. The bacon. Yes. And we liked how large the coffee servings were- we wish American coffee establishments did the cute side cookie like the French. We were so stuffed that we didn't order dessert but wish we did based on looking at tables around us. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean toilets. Great people watching. Open only before 2pm pretty sure. Go!!
